I was out shopping today and while at the DVD store there was this woman with some kids that could not help but be overheard attempting to discipline her kids.

It was hilarious they way she said things, almost like a spoiled teenager herself, with statements like,

"Why are you touching things, when I told you not to touch things. I can't believe what I'm seeing!"

"Ok, sit down right there and have a timeout."

"Stop teasing your brother while he's in timeout. Now you have a timeout".

And the coups-de-grace,

"Why are you standing under my elbow?"

She HAD to have heard me burst out laughing at that one.

It wasn't just what she was saying, but the way she was saying it. I wish I had a tape recorder with me.

BTW, she had NO control of the kids. They weren't being bad or out of line. They were just being kids, doing what kids do.
